Having received the prestigious Innovation Award at R+T 2024, the benchmark event for the sun protection industry, and the Archiproduct Design Award in the same year, it has now won the German Innovation Award 2025, presented by the German Design Council, which has always promoted design excellence. What really adds value to this award is the fact that it was the jury itself, made up of experts from the fields of technology, digitisation and science, that independently nominated Alba Butterfly, awarding it the prize from among hundreds of international entries. But what sets it apart from the others?

A new pantograph closure system

At the core of the design is a retractable canvas which is moved by an innovative pantograph system, providing great flexibility. This advanced technology allows the pergola to adapt, in the flutter of a wing, to different weather conditions, offering maximum protection and comfort with minimum encumbrance. Its capacity for customisation as well as its distinctive design allow it to be integrated into a variety of architectural contexts, both residential and commercial, ensuring a unique decorative presence.
